Aranmore co Donegal
Hi Everybody,
Don't forget about the Aranmore weekend trip coming up on 9th and 10th September. It's a most wonderful venue for kayaking and if we get the weather it will be great. Now is the time to book the hostel which is practically on the beach on the island and it would be fun if a good gang of kayakers booked it. But there are lots of B&B's and there is free camping all on the island.
The ferry runs every couple of hours from Burtonport and will take kayaks but the paddle out is nice and is only about a half hour trip in most weathers. The area has really nice paddling even in fairly bad weather and hopefully we will have enough experienced people so that we can have trips for two levels, experienced and not very experienced. Please try to whip up a bit of support, the more the merrier, provided, of course, that people have a minimum of level 2 training, a proper boat and safety equipment.
