Just a heads up on the Copper Coast meet in June. It will take place on the weekend 11/12 June and will be based out of Tramore. There are plenty of camping and hostel options in Tramore and I will post details of these closer to the time. The Copper Coast is a beautiful part of Irelands coastline with amazing indented coastline and numerous caves and rock gardens. This meet might suit families too as Tramore is a big family venue with lots to do in the area. I will be abroad until the 26 May and will be giving this weekend my full attention on my return. There is a wide range of interesting paddling trips in the area. More about these later. Any queries you can get me at 0851086814 until Tue evening and after that from 27th May.

Three day recce completed. What a fantastic piece of coastline the Copper Coast is. The weather looks like holding for the next weekend so fingers crossed that it will hold and if it holds half as good as the weekend just passed we will have a great meet.
The meet takes place in Tramore. We will be based in the Newtown Cove Caravan and Camping park. I visited this yesterday and it is a very well run and pretty park unlike the one near the promenade which looks like a concentration camp. The park has camping spots and places for camper vans. There are showers and an area for cooking and dining for use by campers which is covered.
We plan to meet at the Pier and slipway in Tramore at 1000hrs on Saturday for a launch at 1030hrs.
There will be a paddle for Intermediate paddlers and a longer paddle for Advanced paddlers.

The meeting point is the Pier and slipway just beside Tramore GR 576 004 and we are staying in the Newtown Cove Camping and Caravan park at GR S564 996. If you are travelling please book into the caravan site - Ph 051 381979. Call me if you have any queries. The campsite is great for children too if anyone has kids to worry about. The rate for ISKA is 14 Euro for car, tent and one adult with an extra six euro per additional adult. The owner says he will throw in the showers for free - normally one euro, wah hey!!
