Well done Conor, at last, it surely wasn\'t that hard ?
The distinctive feature of Davillaun is the small Ox Island at its west end. This shot is looking North. The other critical factor is the summit about one third from the east end. Caher for instance is highest at the western tip. High is simply higher, and Friar is fragmented. They all have their own personality.
This is the island the missing of the landing on which on that trip on that day spawned Oileáin. The landing is one third the way from the west end, and opens southeast. It is not apparent except you are approaching from the southeast or you get very close. Anyone heading south to north will easily miss it. We went through the gap and along the north side, and found nowhere to land. Had we recircled we\'d have found it, as I now know. At that time we risked turning a 2 hour passage Bofin to Turk into 3, so we pushed on. And thereby hangs a tale. It was my 400th personal island when I did get back, with Fred, about 3 or 4 years ago.
Fred thought it could be High when flipped, but others said no, and they were right.
Now to figure out what Knotman is on about. Its a dreary time of year and we need a little entertainment?
