Portugese Man-O-War jellyfish

A news report today (5/1/2010) says there have been dozens of sightings of the hazardous Portugese Man-O-War along the east coast from Ballymoney in Co Wexford to Termonfeckin in Co Louth. They are described as being notorious for their eerie purplish glow and can grow to the size of a football with stinging tentacles up to several metres long.
