Hi gang,

Peter would like to remind all those who are considering attending the Greenland rolling sessions at the symposium to remember to bring suitable head gear. A neoprene hood would be handy and swimming goggles or a mask. The sessions are being held in the sea and not a pool so dress accordingly.

Look forward to seeing you all Friday.
Drive safe.

The draft schedule for the symposium is available here. As always the weather will have the final say.

The 2017 symposium is only two days away. the weather for Saturday is looking ok at the moment but Sunday is not so good. However, the plan is to get out paddling on both days if at all possible. If it is not possible to paddle, indoor activities will be organised. And remember, the symposium is a social event as much as a paddling event.

If you are watching the weather trying to decide whether you will go or not, please don't just turn up unannounced. Cólaiste Uisce need to know how many people are attending first thing Friday morning at the latest.

Looking forward to seeing you there...

Belmullet is an excellent location, allowing almost anyone of any ability to get on the water in any weather. To hand there is access to a team of providers generously giving their time to share their experiences and teach. In actual fact, the annual symposium brings together the largest number of professional instructors in the one location to support us as members and visitors.

In testy conditions, there is an chance to learn more than you could otherwise expect. It is an opportunity lost for anyone thinking of cancelling just because the weather is not what you might prefer. For all the work John and his crew have put in, even if you only come for the social aspect, everything is in place for another fantastic symposium weekend.

I can only concur with Conor's thoughts. A fantastic location and a varied and good programme of workshops has been organised for the Symposium

See ya there
Chris

Looking forward to all the testing conditions and to meeting up for the social aspect of the Symposium. There is a NSE and W coast in the Belmullet area so we will get a paddle in no matter what, in what is one of the most scenic areas of the world.
