South West Meet July 26/27

Post by sandra » Tue Jul 01, 2014 5:42 am

Hey folks,

Just a few details re above topic.
The provisional plan for the meet is to launch from the Old Head Pier on the Saturday and paddle the Old Head of Kinsale, through the arches if possible and then paddle the Seven Heads on Sunday after camping along the route, giving us the option of a night paddle too. All weather dependant, of course. Will come back with confirmation closer to the day when we have an accurate forecast.

Only 2 weeks to go, any more details?

Two (non/former ISKA members - long story) willing to give it a try. Your website used to say members of overseas clubs/organizations welcome to attend trips and there were some waiver forms to download on the website. Both members of the Salzwasserunion (German seakayaking association - members 1924/1925) so any chance of tagging along?

Absolutely, tell them to come along, everyone is welcome and the more the merrier. In regard to waiver forms, these are not needed other than to point them to the last paragraph in the "About Us" section and we will have general wording updated shortly.

Hey Steve,

Be great to see you and Niamh there. Apart from having yourself ready for a camping trip, I'll not have any further details until I have an accurate weather forecast. There is a contingency plan in place if the planned trip isn't possible but it still requires a tent

Regards,

Sandra

Hi Sandra, I am trying to work out if I need to haul all my gear in the boat or will we be leaving the camping stuff at a campsite. Makes a difference to what to plan to bring. Also can you confirm the start point and time. I understand the rest of the plan is weather dependant.
Regards
MC
