Hopper\'s way.

Post by mcorbett » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:51 pm

To commemorate a friend we lost last year, there will be currachs, yachts & kayaks going west from Carrigaholt to Kilkee. Walkers & cyclists etc will use the road.

Sunday 30th June. Loop Head, Carrigaholt to Kilbaha 15 km approx. Registration at 12:00 in Carrigaholt. Paddle shortly thereafter.

An alternative paddle for newer paddlers/ GP boats is from Rinvalla bay. This cuts out Kilcreaudan Head & makes for 11 km approx.

€10 per person is the suggested donation. All monies to go to Pieta house.

I\'d like to have as exact details of numbers of paddlers as possible. It\'s getting closer to the day.
If the weather permits it would be great to see as many kayaks as possible on the water. We used to paddle this in GP kayaks. If time & conditions permit there could be two flotillas; sea kayaks & GP boats. Not playboats unless you plan on leaving the previous week!
Dave Gorman to lead the sea kayak group,
Myself to lead the others.

If conditions do not permit; please understand if numbers are restricted to those with relevant experience/equipment.
While there should be plenty of cover boats in the water on the day I would not like to see anyone get into trouble.

Pity it clashes with the ISKA meet in Antrim Matt or we would lead a group from ECSKC to your meet. Will post a link up on our website to see if any takers. Good luck with the meet.
