Cost: £47.50
Course pre-requisites:
Candidates must be able to swim 25 metres wearing a buoyancy aid.
Have experience of paddling both canoe and kayak in two different locations.
Have attended two paddlesport competitions or two journeys.
Course summary:
The 2 Star is a flat water award, Tollymore location and excellent transport gives staff the flexibility to select the most suitable venue for your course allowing you to get the most out of your day in the prevailing weather conditions,
On this assessment there will be opportunities for individual coaching but it is expected that those attending are familiar with the syllabus and the standard required by the governing body.
The majority of the day will be spent afloat with the focus on developing your boat handling skills in a flat water environment. The day will also cover background knowledge such as – equipment selection and maintenance, safety, access, trip planning, environmental considerations etc.
Who is the course for?
This one-day assessment course is aimed at those who have attended a training course or who have been recommended to go direct for assessment.
The 2 Star is a prerequisite for those wishing to attend a Level 1 Coach Training as a boat based coach
