Seeking partners (esp in Universities) ...

Post by tavi » Thu Jun 01, 2017 9:48 am

Bit of a wild card this one ... there's a EU funding call for Irish - Welsh projects that "maximise the potential of Ireland and Wales’ natural and cultural assets to help increase visitor numbers to coastal communities".

Just gauging interest in a possible project to create a sea kayaking (and maybe other coastal sport) resource that enhances people's experiences of the coast, giving them information on geology, biology, archaeology, history, trip suggestions, local coaches - maybe even accommodation, food and so on. Useful for both visitors and providers and with information from both university level expertise and practitioners. No idea whether it'd be a serious contender, but if folk were interested I'm happy to talk to our EU experts here at Swansea University and find out what they think...

I've lots of contacts in universities and practitioners this side of the Irish sea - any interest from the western side? Especially anyone from universities in Cork or Dublin or elsewhere (see eligible area below)? But sea kayak coaches / other coastal professionals etc also interested would be great!

Further detail here: http://www.irelandwales.eu/news/funding ... -programme (map at the end of this document shows areas that can be involved http://www.irelandwales.eu/sites/defaul ... e%20en.pdf)

Kind regards - and huge thanks for everyone's help during our circumnavigation! Tavi
