RNLI incident research

Post by johnbrophy » Thu Mar 16, 2017 1:07 pm

Hi All,

The RNLI have commissioned research into serious incidents at sea and are looking for people to be interviewed in relation to such incidents. If you would like to contribute, go to the following page:

http://www.natcen.ac.uk/natcen-forms/un ... the-coast/

Having partaken in exercises with the RNLI in Sligo as part of the ISKA symposium last year, and the following debrief, it was clear that RNLI crew can have limited experience dealing with kayakers, and may not be familiar with our boats, gear and training. This research is an opportunity for those with the relevant experience to contribute to a better understanding of kayaking incidents for the rescue services.
