St Stephens day paddle

Post Christmas riverine kayak Peregrination ! If you are in or near Co Kildare on St Stephens day, with time to spare, consider this...
Newbridge Kayak Club are running a river trip from Athgarvan/Kinneagh to Newbridge on the Liffey.
Meet at Newbridge PBS at 10 to be on the water by 11.
Suitable for paddler level 2 or better unless there is a flood (that\'s not expected). Seakayaks are ok (I will parade my venerable nordkapp), though I suggest plastic. Seasonal decorations are optional provided they do not impact safety or blind others.
So - take this as an opportunity to burn some calories and justify further feasting.
Txt me if intrstd @ 087 28 38 667, or just be at Newbridge PBS before 10am.
One last thing - helmets required.

Hi, Mick, I`m not too familiar with this stretch of river, is it suitable for K1? Might be fun. Maurice. :woohoo:

Maurice,
The Liffey is shallow and has no decent rapids here.
One weir (simple shoot or easy to bypass/portage).
You would have no problem with a K1.
