Re:SE Xmas paddle - update

Postby emullan » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:47 pm

Hi folks,

We\'re meeting at/near the pier in Ring (out past Dungarvan) at 10am on Sunday 17th Dec.

Please dress warmly and bring spare clothes for your boat. Most importantly (!) bring some pince pies, a hot drink, and whatever Christmas goodies you can lay your hands on.

We\'ll be going round Helvic if the weather looks good and inland to the Conniger if its howling.

According to Met Eireann, Sunday will start mainly dry, but cloud and southwest winds will increase before rain spreads in during the afternoon.

If you\'ve any questions please call me on 087 7851475.

Elaine.

Is that the pier at Helvick the new one or the old one closer to Dungarvan?

Should be there too

The \"old\" pier, the one at Ring, is at X299-888. On the OS its Ballynagaul but gaelgoiri know it as Baile na Gall, or foreignersville. Turn left after Ring Irish College. The \"new\" pier is at Helvick X313-892. Oileáin page 52. Great campervan spot.

Clarification on meeting spot

Postby emullan » Sat Oct 26, 2013 7:47 pm

We\'ll meet at the new, big RNLI pier at Helvic Head not the older, smaller one, nearer the village centre.

Apologies for the confusion. I had forgetten that there is a smaller older pier. There\'s easier access and more room for parking at the new pier.

Thanks,
Elaine
